Your spouse or common-law partner may accompany you to Canada or visit you while you are in Canada,
provided that they meet all the normal requirements for temporary residence. For example, if they require a
temporary resident visa, they must apply for a visa and pay the appropriate processing fee.
If they apply for a temporary resident visa, a study permit or a work permit, they should submit their
application at the same time as your application, when possible. If you are married, you should provide a copy
of your marriage certificate. If you are in a common-law relationship, complete and submit the form, Statutory
Declaration of Common-Law Union, along with the evidence listed in the form to support your relationship.
